Clinician

Rumona Thadani has been a licensed social worker for over 20 years. She graduated from Clark University with a major in Philosophy and earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She has worked in various clinical settings ranging from crisis intervention to long-term mental health programs serving individuals, couples, and families from many diverse backgrounds. Rumona has an empathic, solution-focused, and collaborative approach to working with those who are coping with depression, anxiety, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, and stressful life transitions. Her belief in our fundamental human capacity for self-awareness, self-regulation, and positive change strongly informs her work in helping patients to align with their most meaningful and life-affirming goals. While doing so, she creates a comfortable, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment that ensures a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. Her practice is based in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and a mindfulness-centered orientation that promotes self-empowerment and adaptive coping skills to help achieve healthy relationships and live a life that is valued by the patient as authentic and fulfilling.
